Panama is a small village on Sri Lanka's south east coast, easily reached by a proper road that opens onto an almost-empty black-sand beach right on the edge of Kumana National Park. It's a place with its own quiet charm — paddy fields, lagoons and wildlife on your doorstep — a world away from the crowds.
